Attorney Marc O. Dedman
Marc was civil law-educated in New Orleans and originally licensed in Louisiana. He has practiced the common law for Spicer Rudstrom for over 30 years, now advising Spicer Rudstrom’s business and insurance clients.
Marc obtained his bachelor’s degree in finance from Loyola University in New Orleans. Among other accomplishments at Loyola, Marc was elected as Student Government Vice President by the student body. He obtained his J.D. from Tulane University and his M.B.A. from Columbia University. At Columbia, Marc was elected to the Honor Board and was the teaching assistant for the Securities Analysis course in the graduate school of business. Marc served four years in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate’s General Corps at two duty stations: Ft. McClellan, Alabama and Ft. McNair, Washington, D.C. He is a recipient of the U.S. Army Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Air Assault Badge.
Marc’s practice is concentrated primarily in the following areas: insurance coverage and bad faith; U.S. and international business and commercial representation; and healthcare representation, both litigation and administrative. Marc is Chair of the firm’s Business, Corporate and International Law and Litigation practice. He has an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is recognized by Super Lawyers as a top-rated lawyer.
Marc was the 2010-2011 CLE Chair for the International Association of Primerus Law Firms, Primerus Defense Institute. He was the 2012-2013 National Chair of the International Association of Primerus Law Firms, Primerus Defense Institute. He was elected to the 2014 and 2015 International Association of Primerus Law Firms Board of Directors. Marc was selected to the 2015 Class of Fellows, Nashville Bar Foundation. He was a member of the Aquinas College Board of Trustees in Nashville from 2012 to 2017. Marc was Chair of the 2018-2019 International Association of Primerus Law Firms International Committee. In that capacity, he will Chair the 2019 Primerus International Convocation to be attended by attorneys from around the world.
Outside his work, Marc has run in, among others, five Boston Marathons, the New York City Marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon, the Chicago Marathon, and the Bogota, Colombia Half Marathon.
