Attorney Jack K. Shelton
Jack K. Shelton is Of Counsel in the Nashville office of Spicer Rudstrom, PLLC. His major practice areas include Corporate and Transactional Law, Commercial and Government Contracts, International Trade, U.S. Export Controls, and Industrial Security.
Jack works with businesses in myriad industries, adding value to companies engaged in international trade. He focuses on educating his clients and putting strategies in place that they are likely to follow to manage their risks. Such specific areas include U.S. Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Antiboycott Laws, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Foreign Direct Investment, National Industrial Security Program, International Sales / Agency / Distribution, Transportation of Goods and Cargo Damage, and International Payment Systems.
He was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the West Tennessee District Export Council and also speaks at events hosted by the U.S. Commercial Service on international trade law. Each semester, Jack lectures at the Memphis College of Art teaching students about how they can protect their work.
Jack and his wife recently relocated to Nashville, originally from Memphis. Both animal lovers, they have a dog named Kenji and a cat, Charlie Rich. Jack also serves on the Woof River Animal Rescue board in his spare time.
