Attorney Amy C. Markham
Amy C. Markham is a pro-business, experienced litigator focused on workers’ compensation, construction defect and catastrophic personal injury cases. She is the Managing Member of Spicer Rudstrom’s Little Rock office, which she assisted in opening in 2011. She has found a niche practice representing insurance companies—and their insureds—in matters ranging into millions of dollars.
As a litigator, Amy works to minimize the damages and defeat lawsuits filed against her clients. In a recent case, where the perceived damages were $9 million, she was able to reach a settlement for nearly half of that amount for her client. Another notable achievement occurred in a two-week construction case, where the plaintiff could not provide enough evidence to substantiate the claims. No jury or witnesses were called, and the judge ruled a zero verdict, meaning Amy’s client paid nothing. Because of her strong background in insurance defense, she is one of three attorneys in the state of Arkansas appointed by Travelers Insurance as a construction defect litigation lawyer.
Amy attended Ouachita Baptist University and obtained her accounting degree from Pikeville College. She graduated from the William H. Bowen School of Law in 2002. Outside of work, Amy is actively involved in her church, Calvary Baptist Church, and in the community. She and her husband, Steven, have three daughters, Ellen, Betsy and Leigh Ashley.
