Lance Thompson

 

Lance is a highly experienced and accomplished state and federal trial and appellate attorney practicing in Nashville, Tennessee. He has handled numerous appeals in the Tennessee Court of Appeals and Tennessee Supreme Court.

Clients and colleagues recognize Lance for his analytical, brief writing, and advocacy skills, and for approaching litigation and other client problems strategically. Lance researches and writes his own legal briefs, and personally appears in court on behalf of clients.

Lance handles litigation from the commencement of a lawsuit all the way through the appeals process. Lance also assists trial counsel in developing and defining issues; in preparing case dispositive motions before trial; in preparing motions in limine to limit the presentation of an opponent’s evidence at trial; in preparing motions for directed findings and verdicts; and in preparing post-trial motions. He also is the lead attorney for research.

Lance has been honored with the distinction of being named Mid-South Rising Stars by Super Lawyers and Ones to Watch by Best Lawyers.

Outside of law, Lance enjoys backpacking and golf. He has hiked down the Grand Canyon and the canyons in the backcountry of Zion National Park. Lance is also a songwriter and plays guitar, which he has been doing since he was twelve years old. He has played at the Bluebird Café, a venue featured on the TV show Nashville because of its significance in helping many musicians get their start in country music.
